In Diablo 3, a class is currently storming the top 100 and is particularly represented there. In Season 20, one of the previously weakest classes is now showing its best side.
Which class is it? The Witch Doctor is at the forefront in Season 20 of Diablo 3. The reason is likely the new set, Mundunugus Ornat, which came into the game in patch 2.6.8.
Such a buff was sorely needed for the Witch Doctor in D3. At the end of Season 19, it landed in second to last place in our look at the leaderboard. The Witch Doctor wasn’t really among your favorite classes of Season 19.
So it’s great that the Hexi is doing well again.
The Witch Doctor is so strong in Season 20 of Diablo 3
Theory: Even before the start of Season 20, it became apparent that the Doc has a lot of potential in Season 20. The stats on his new set showed this. After tests on the PTR, it was clear: this is going to be really strong.
No wonder that the Witch Doctor with his Mundunugus set is found in the tier list for Season 20 in the god tier.
Changes also went over well with you. In our survey, over 400 people voted before the start of S20 that this class is your favorite. Barbarians were still more popular.
Practice: In the new patch 2.6.8, the set and other adjustments for the Witch Doctor’s items feel very good. At the current time, it seems that the class is best suited for solo GRs.
Currently, the Witch Doctor leads the European solo leaderboard in softcore. The top 3 as of March 23 at 10:50 AM are:
- Witch Doctor – GR 135
- Crusader – GR 133
- Barbarian – GR 130
This means that European players with the Witch Doctor class have already successfully completed Greater Nephalem Portals of level 135. So far, not with any other class. The Witch Doctor has maintained the lead for several days now.
In the top 100 of the worldwide leaderboard for solo GRs, the Witch Doctor is represented 47 times. In hardcore mode, it is 26 times at the same time.
What’s next? Blizzard has already released new sets for Monk and Crusader. Then, for Season 20, for Witch Doctor, Barbarian, and Wizard. Next on the list are the Demon Hunter and the Necromancer. Many are likely looking forward to the changes for the Demon Hunter, as there hasn’t been much change for this class in a long time.
