Helldivers 2 has given the Factory Striders a new extra in an update, making the giant robots much more unpleasant.
Which robot is it about? In Helldivers 2, there is a huge robot called Factory Strider, which is heavily armored and produces smaller robots inside, which it then drops onto the battlefield.
Factory Striders are really unpleasant opponents that can deal a lot of damage themselves and, by constantly fabricating new troops, additionally take control of the battle away from you.

Why is the robot much harder to defeat now? On March 18, 2025, Helldivers released a new update that adjusted some balancing and introduced a new war bond. The update also included a small change to the Factory Striders that was not mentioned in the patch notes:
The Factory Striders can now spawn with a jammer instead of a cannon.
Jammers are a real plague in Helldivers 2. They prevent you from requesting orbital and airstrikes, new tactical equipment, or support (the respawn of fallen teammates). Jammers must be disabled as quickly as possible because they block your access to important and powerful equipment, which can significantly complicate the battle.
How do you best counter the Factory Striders? Due to their heavy armor, the giant robots can only be taken down with explosive attacks. So, it’s best to use support weapons such as the Quasar Cannon, the Recoilless Rifle, or the Railgun, and aim for the face of the steel beast.
What are the players saying about it? The Helldivers community is already actively discussing the Factory Striders with jammers on Reddit. A common reaction from players is simple: “What the hell?!”
Another player believes that this could lead to a “wild increase in difficulty” since requesting Eagle airstrikes and orbital strikes will become much less reliable. Over 3,200 Reddit users showed their agreement with an upvote.
