- The raid variant is set to offer a heroic experience and focus on the dangerous adversaries.
- The 50-participant convergence is meant to provide a story-focused alternative for those who are reluctant to engage in raids. It is expected to resemble structurally comparable convergences from Secrets of the Obscure, but with a slightly higher difficulty level.
- The raid will not be available directly at the launch of the expansion, but will instead be available in November. A challenge mode and a legendary mode will follow shortly thereafter.
- In the convergence version of the raid, the war claw mount will provide support. You will earn essences through the content, which can be used to craft legendary equipment – including the legendary spear and the legendary backpack that are set to follow with the quarterly updates for Janthir Wilds.

Are more raids planned for Guild Wars 2? The developers answer this question with a “maybe.” Raid content takes a “significant amount of development resources,” but is only played by a few heroes of Tyria. The new alternative is an attempt to make raid content attractive to a larger part of the community.
Furthermore, it should be easier to integrate raid content into the annual release schedule if it is part of the campaign. The plan is to expand certain story elements so that they can also support raids going forward.

- A new weapon type, the two-handed spear, will come for combat on land, with each class using the spear in its own way.
