One of the most well-known is probably Petopia, which has been a go-to resource for hunters with a penchant for particularly exclusive companions for many years.
However, there was some sad news recently: The founder of the site, Sandra Powers, has passed away. This was announced on Petopia.
Who was Sandra Powers? Sandra “Mania” Powers was the founder of the site “Petopia.” She loved the hunter class and essentially compiled all the information about all the animal companions available in the game on Petopia. Even though the site has gained more staff over the years and Powers gradually withdrew after the “golden age” of WoW, she still holds high esteem as the founder of the site.
In addition, Sandra Powers was also an MMO producer. She worked on Asheron’s Call, EverQuest II, and along with her husband on the MMO project Gorgon.
Powers passed away from cancer at the end of January 2025.

This is how Power is immortalized in the game: Blizzard recognized the importance of Sandra “Mania” Powers to the community years ago and immortalized her with two NPCs in the game. One of them is the orc lady “Beastmaster Mania,” whom you can meet in the Hunters’ Order Hall in Legion.
The second NPC comes from Cataclysm and is the rare mob “Ainamiss the Swarm Queen,” which you can encounter in Tanaris – at least when she is there, as she is a rare mob.
