The huge Twitch streamer Adin Ross has now been permanently banned from the platform after several bans. Rumors are running rampant, as the exact reason for the ban is not entirely clear. However, it seems that he was not even live during the guideline violation.
Who is Adin Ross?
- Adin Ross was among the top 20 streamers on Twitch and currently has over 20,000 subscribers on his channel. At his peak, he had over 71,000 subscribers.
- His streams attracted an average of over 43,000 viewers, while Ross was live about four times a week.
- Through GTA 5, NBA 2K, and casino streams, he was able to build a following of over 5.8 million people.
- Adin Ross has reportedly been permanently banned from Twitch due to a homophobic remark.
Adin Ross was reportedly banned permanently due to a phone call
Why was Adin Ross apparently banned? This is not 100% confirmed, but many believe that the streamer was banned because he used an insult against homosexuals.
This did not happen during his own livestream, but while he was on the phone with his streamer friend yourragegaming – who was live at the time. In the tweet, you can watch the clip with the homophobic remark:
After the remark, yourragegaming reacted with babble to drown out the utterance and immediately muted his microphone. The clip went viral over the course of a week and may have led to Adin Ross’s ban. Previously, the streamer had received 4 bans – the 5th is likely now his last.
What does Adin Ross say about it? He commented on Twitter, but deleted the tweet shortly afterward. He stated that he did not know why he was permanently banned from Twitch and attached screenshots from the platform’s email. A Twitter user captured the streamer’s tweet in a screenshot:
What were the reasons according to Twitch? The platform cites hateful insults or symbols as the reason. Furthermore, the violation of the guidelines took place in a stream or VOD. These justifications would confirm the community’s suspicions, and the phone call during the live stream with yourragegaming could definitely be the reason for the permanent ban.
yourragegaming is now trying to protect his buddy on Twitter and wrote under the clip that it wasn’t actually Adin Ross on the phone, but a friend from high school. However, he received mockery for this, and the community responded that you can clearly hear that’s Adin Ross.
Adin Ross still has an inactive YouTube channel with 871,000 subscribers. Maybe this is the right opportunity to revive it.
