EVE Online gets a completely new entry with Quadrant 3. We at MeinMMO reveal what has changed and for whom the MMO is worthwhile.
What is new about the entry? EVE Online aims to make it easier for its players to start with the new update and has made the following changes:
- A new AI, the AIR NPE, now explains all the basics to you. Battles, commands, and actions are now visually represented in a new editor in the interface.
- The user interface now unlocks gradually, so players are not overwhelmed.
- The UI and graphics at the start have been revised.
It has also been emphasized to MeinMMO that the new entry is not only about mechanics but also about lore. In line with this, there is a new intro video that explains the story and possibilities of the game world.
The new entry is expected to take about 45 minutes.
For veterans, the new update brings adjustments to resource distribution, customizable skill plans, and new events.
Why is the entry being revised? EVE Online is considered one of the most complicated MMOs and initially makes it difficult for newcomers to find their way. Therefore, the entry has been gradually adjusted now and in previous years.
On September 23, the MMO will be released in the Epic Store. Bergur Finnbogason, the Creative Director of EVE Online, hopes for an increase in new players:

What is behind EVE Online? EVE Online is a sandbox MMO in space that was released in 2003. In it, you travel with a spaceship through the vast universe and can basically do whatever you want. You can:
- mine resources and kill mobs in PvE to develop your ship and character
- explore a vast universe and its secrets
- combat other players
- trade freely with other players
- join together with players into huge alliances
Accessing EVE Online is free. However, free-to-play players will experience noticeable limitations and cannot obtain all ships in the game. Those who want to experience the full package must subscribe monthly.

What makes the game so complicated? EVE Online relies on many complex systems and a confusing interface. This makes the start particularly tedious and sluggish.
Later on, there are countless opportunities, new ships, and tasks that can be overwhelming. In addition, there is no clear guide and story for players to follow. You are somewhat left to your own devices.
Last but not least, the community is considered sly, toxic, and sometimes a bit silly, as confirmed by the most honest player of EVE Online in an interview with MeinMMO. This simply does not appeal to every player.
However, EVE has improved significantly in recent years, and the community is actively working to integrate new players into the MMO world. Accordingly, there are beginner guilds that take new players under their wing.
What fascinates so many about EVE? EVE primarily draws attention with its massive space battles. Recently, the great World War Bee 2 raged from July 2020 to January 2021.
During this time, two massive alliances battled against each other and destroyed ships worth more than 800,000 euros, when converting in-game currency into real money. This is possible because you can buy the currency PLEX for real money and then exchange it for in-game currency with other players.

Who is EVE Online interesting for in 2021? Anyone interested in a space MMO and not afraid of Excel spreadsheets and a somewhat outdated interface should definitely check out EVE. The game offers a vast world and a variety of tasks that can keep new players busy for hundreds and thousands of hours.
However, the game is not for adrenaline junkies, as everything progresses slowly. The right strategy and a long-term plan are more important than quick reactions and good keyboard control.
Moreover, EVE is merciless. Other players can attack you and destroy your ship, although there is now at least some protection for beginners. However, PvP, massive battles, and deception play a crucial role in EVE.
