The Anime of Solo Leveling will celebrate its premiere only next year. However, with the reveal of the opening song, Crunchyroll teases a way for you to see the anime this year. But there is a small catch.
What is Solo Leveling?
- The anime is based on a webtoon or manhwa (the Korean version of a manga).
- It is so popular that it ranks Rank 7 on MyAnimeList. Accordingly, the anime adaptation is highly anticipated.
- The anime is about a world where “gates” appear in the real world. These are connected to dungeons that are cleared by “hunters”.
- Protagonist Jin Woo is considered the weakest “hunter” and is mortally injured in a high-ranking dungeon. Just before his death, he receives a quest where he must level up and gets a second chance.
The first trailer for Solo Leveling has already increased anticipation for the anime. The anime is set to premiere on Crunchyroll in 2024, but there are exactly three opportunities to watch the first two episodes of the first season before that.

How you can see Solo Leveling before everyone else
How can I watch the anime before 2024? In the new trailer, Crunchyroll reveals that there will be a world premiere for Solo Leveling. It is possible to watch the first two episodes still in 2023.
In December, there will be three dates when fans can watch the episodes. Unfortunately, none of the events will take place in Europe, fans will have to travel to South Korea, Japan, or the USA instead.
The following dates are for the premiere (via crunchyroll.com):
- United Cinema Toyosu (Tokyo): December 10, 2023
- CGV Yongsan (Seoul): December 10, 2023
- The Saban Theatre (Los Angeles): December 14, 2023
If you have no way to watch the anime on one of the mentioned dates, you need not be sad. The anime is set to start on Crunchyroll in January 2024. So you won’t have to wait long to see the episodes as well.
What else can be seen in the trailer? In addition to announcing the world premiere, the new trailer presents the anime’s opening song. The opening theme is aptly called “Level” and is a collaboration between Japanese composer and singer Sawano Hiroyuki and the Korean pop band TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
In a reddit post many fans discuss the new trailer. Some find the music good, while others were expecting something more hardcore metal or at least something darker.
However, the animations have received a lot of praise. User HoodieDisqus is glad that the snake monster was not created with CGI. But some users like HOSelters have a problem with the faces. Especially the nose stands out to some users.
