Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is full of gadgets that provide you with advantages in certain situations – or disadvantages for your opponents. It is very helpful to understand the mechanics of the useful tools. Some annoying gadgets are not so bad after all.
Which killstreak are we talking about? The counter UAV. The device can be unlocked with 5 kills in a row and is the direct counter to the reconnaissance drone.
The reconnaissance drones belong to the strongest killstreaks in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – they show you on the minimap where opponents are located who are not using the perk “Ghost”. But even with “Ghost,” you can be visible in certain situations.
With the counter UAV, reconnaissance can be prevented – your minimap will be disrupted by the killstreak, and you will not see the outlines of the map or the pings of the enemies. The long duration of the counter UAV can be extremely annoying – but it doesn’t have to be.
Why is the counter UAV a joke? The thing has ridiculously few hit points. If you notice that the opponents are activating the killstreak, check the sky and watch for the small drone.
Fire a few rounds from your assault rifle at the counter UAV and it will come down. Your minimap will thank you – it will be ready for use again immediately.
Due to the strong reconnaissance drones, it may also be worthwhile for you to bring a rocket launcher. If you usually only play with your primary weapon, equip the “PILA” and take down the drone as soon as one appears.
With one hit, the reconnaissance bonus for your enemies is gone.
Sometimes it’s the small tricks that give you a big advantage. And they are not always as obvious as “the best weapons of Modern Warfare 2”.
