After two rather quiet months, the largest update in a long time is supposed to land on the servers of Lost Ark in September 2024. However, Amazon Games has announced an adjustment to the roadmap.
What does the new schedule look like? Initially, the responsible parties had presented the roadmap for the updates from August to November at the end of July 2024. However, via playlostark.com, they announced that the schedule for the localization of the new contents has been delayed. Therefore, Amazon Games has to adjust the plans for the upcoming updates of Lost Ark as follows:
- On August 28, a patch will be released with nerfs for Akkan, Thaemine, and Echidna.
- The Behemoth raid will already land on the live servers of the MMORPG on September 11, 2024. The required item level will be reduced to 1,620. At the same time, the Oktoberfest event will start.
- The first October update will bring the new endgame class 4 on October 9, 2024, along with fresh activities like the Kurzan frontline and the Kenuart fortress, the continent of North Kurzan, and all the other changes that were actually supposed to come in September.
- The Aegir raid will follow on October 16, 2024 (though this update may be postponed to October 23, 2024).
By the way, the developers’ update also states that they want to release the API (which stands for Application Programming Interface) of Lost Ark for the western version in the long term. Such an interface allows for privately developed addons or macro scripts, similar to WoW.

What is the current situation in Lost Ark? Publisher Amazon Games is still struggling to attract MMORPG enthusiasts to the servers of Lost Ark in the long term. Currently, around 20,000 Steam users are simultaneously active in Arkesia (via steamcharts.com).
A significant problem identified by the operators over the past months was the overwhelming or exhausting nature of the monthly release of increasingly elaborate endgame challenges for many players. As a result, they consciously applied the brakes in July and August and released comparatively small updates.
On August 14, 2024, for example, the Indigo Island (with a new single-player dungeon), bound gold for certain progression systems, and a new mission system for the chaos dungeons were introduced.
