The fantasy MMORPG Ashes of Creation is receiving new content, including two playable races and a dungeon. For around two weeks, you can also play the game around the clock.
What kind of game is this? Ashes of Creation is a sandbox fantasy MMORPG developed by Intrepid Studios. The game is still in the alpha phase but is already playable and excites MMORPG fans – although there are many criticisms as well. For our MMORPG expert Karsten Scholz, Ashes of Creation is one of the most exciting MMORPG projects for the upcoming year.
In a livestream, the developers announced that the “Alpha Two” of Ashes of Creation has reached Phase 2. This lasted approximately 90 minutes and also includes gameplay from a new dungeon.
What’s new in Ashes of Creation? Phase 2 of Alpha Two brings a number of new contents, and you can find a complete overview at forums.ashesofcreation.com. Here’s a summary of what are probably the biggest innovations:

What are the Nodes?
The open world of Ashes of Creation is divided into so-called nodes, which can be conquered and developed by players – from a small campsite to a metropolis.
New playable races, a dungeon, and more
The two new races are the Dwarven Dünir and the desert people of the Vaelune. The new dungeon is the “Fallen Forge,” a large underground complex. Once a home of the Dünir, the forge has now been abandoned.
Those who want to fulfill the dream of homeownership in the game can buy one of the “Freeholds.” For testing purposes, such freeholds can be purchased by any level-20 character for only 100 gold.
Until January 6, 2025, the test servers where you can already play the game are expected to be online around the clock. After that, they will be available for at least 5 days a week, as the development team announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
