You can now play one of the best MMORPGs for free: Final Fantasy XIV is giving away almost 100 hours of gameplay.
How do you get almost 100 hours for free? Final Fantasy XIV has launched a new free login campaign
. The game is giving away a total of 96 hours of free gameplay between January 9 and February 6, 2025.
Players who return, meaning those who already own a full version of the MMORPG but have not played for at least 30 days since their last subscription (or trial period) expired, can secure the game time. Of course, you also must not currently have an active subscription with game time on a service account.
So, the nearly 100 hours are not for active players of Final Fantasy XIV, but for those who have not set foot in Eorzea for a while: the returnees.
You can also play up to the current patch 7.1:
Almost 100 hours of free gameplay – Almost without restrictions
Are there any restrictions? There are no content restrictions for returning players during the free gameplay period. All available content can be played. The prerequisite is that you own the respective expansion needed for the content:
If you want to upgrade your starter version or upgrade to the latest add-on, the Dawntrail – Standard Edition

What can you expect in Final Fantasy XIV? The game is a theme park MMORPG, where content from earlier expansions can still be played today. Completing the main story is the requirement to unlock the content.

- 8-player raid
The Arkadion – Halfweight
(normal and epic) - 24-player raid
Echoes from Vana’diel – Jeuno: The first stage
