The deceptively cute dungeon crawler Cult of the Lamb (available on all major platforms) was one of the best games on Steam in 2022. Yet, even one and a half years after its release, the developers are diligently adding updates and the latest one is quite significant.
What kind of update is this? Since the developers of the indie hit Cult of the Lamb announced the new major update Sins of the Flesh in November 2023, the roguelite has become increasingly debauched:
- First, nudity was to be introduced into the game, then players demanded to be able to give their animal followers more than just a tame kiss – and they promptly succeeded.
- On December 13, the developers revealed that soon you’ll also be able to spread fear and terror among enemies in the various dungeons using firearms (via X).
- In the spirit of holiday cheer, a bar serving alcoholic beverages was also announced, where you can get your loyal followers drunk (via X).
With sex, weapons, and alcohol, Cult of the Lamb now only lacks the ability to steal cars and speed around in them to compete with GTA 6. A fan apparently had a similar thought and already demanded the option to drive (via X).
Cult of Lamb has already received a crossover this year with the indie favorite Don’t Starve:

How are the reactions? Players have responded quite positively to the bite-sized announcements of new content. The reactions were already positive under the announcement of firearms and the prospect of alcoholic beverages has put many fans in a festive mood. We have gathered some of the reactions for you:

Other users are already trying to spot further innovations in the short teaser videos. It seems that Bishop Leshy is indeed wearing a dress – will there soon be an option to customize the clothing of one’s followers?
However, some players seem to feel a bit claustrophobic at the prospect of so much new content; they wonder where they are going to fit a tavern among all their decorations and cult necessities. Whether the camp will also have more space with the update remains unknown.
To be fair, even with nudity and guns, an indie roguelite with building elements won’t suddenly become the next GTA 6.
