The legendary CS:GO pro Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has been banned from Twitch again. This is the 4th ban in a short time. The pro is considered one of the best players in Counterstrike: Global Offensive and cannot quite understand the ban.
This is s1mple: The Ukrainian is 23 years old and has been among the best players in CS:GO for years. He has already won numerous tournaments and is competing with the French player Zyw0o for the title of the best CS:GO player.
In addition to the tournaments in CS:GO, the pro is also active as a streamer on Twitch. There, he primarily plays Counterstrike and often reaches over 20,000 simultaneous viewers.
However, his career on Twitch has not always gone smoothly in recent months. Numerous bans have shown the dark sides of s1mple.
Another ban – streamer doesn’t understand it
Here’s how s1mple is doing on Twitch: It is now the 4th ban for the streamer within 1 ½ years:
- In August 2019, there was the ban because he allegedly made hateful comments. He stated that these were just jokes between him and a friend and should not be taken seriously.
- In November 2019 there was then a ban because he used a Russian swear word – he himself felt the word was “normal” and does not understand the ban.
- In July 2020, there was again a ban – there he is said not to know the reasons for the ban.
This is what happened now: s1mple has now spoken out again on Twitter and explained that he has been banned from Twitch again:
He explained the ban by stating that another person used the Russian word “Pidor”, which roughly means “faggot”. The other person allegedly tried to get him banned, according to the streamer’s statement.
s1mple himself said that he wanted to condemn the other person because he has a negative attitude towards that word. For this, he was then banned.
s1mple showed no insight with this ban and even says that he finds it funny to be banned for such things.
So, similar to the other bans, he questions the reasons and cannot understand why this ban occurred.
What is Twitch’s stance on such bans? Bans are always a sensitive topic on Twitch. Especially in the past, there have been numerous bans that streamers cannot really understand.
By now, Twitch is more transparent and has already explained in detail when one is banned for nudity on Twitch.
When it comes to insults, it’s often a matter of interpretation. Nevertheless, Twitch rarely shows leniency if a streamer becomes very abusive during streams. Therefore, the German streamer MontanaBlack has also been banned on Twitch.
