These are the most popular players in FIFA 19: The page “futbin” has collected data on “Player Game Performance” in FIFA 19, short “PGP”. There, you can view overall player statistics such as matches played, goal rates, assist rates, or cards.
The PGP database consists of transfer market data from players. This means: Untradable cards, such as some rewards from SBCs, are not counted.
Therefore, the numbers should not be understood as an exact science but rather provide meaningful reference points. As the game continues to be played, it is possible that the numbers may shift slightly in the future.
We looked at the most popular attackers, midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers. Are your favorite players among them?
The 5 most popular attackers
These forwards were played the most: This section includes the positions ST, MS, RF, and LF. This means: Not only the goal scorers at the center front but also the attacking wingers are considered. According to “Futbin”, these five players were the most popular attackers in FIFA 19:
- Kylian Mbappé (RF, Standard Gold): 66,939,484 matches
- Neymar (LF, Standard Gold): 46,207,832 matches
- Sergio Agüero (ST, Standard Gold): 43,545,645 matches
- Mohamed Salah (RF, Standard Gold): 43,138,604 matches
- Antoine Griezmann (ST, Standard Gold): 42,270,259 matches
Currently, the duo from Paris Saint-Germain consisting of Mbappé and Neymar ranks highest, both of whom are also two of the best players in FIFA 19. Following them are Agüero and Salah from the Premier League, and in 5th place, Griezmann, a representative from the Spanish league.
Notably: The cards are exclusively standard cards. This is not surprising, as special cards are usually much more expensive and not everyone can afford a multitude of special cards. This is likely also the reason why players like Ronaldo or Messi were played significantly less: they are simply too expensive.
The 5 most popular midfielders
These midfielders were played the most: The midfield includes positions ZM, ZDM, ZOM, LM, and RM. The most popular midfield players were:
- Fabinho (ZDM, Standard Gold): 79,681,509 matches
- N’Golo Kanté (ZDM, Standard Gold): 73,707,503 matches
- Paul Pogba (ZM, Standard Gold): 68,160,984 matches
- Kevin De Bruyne (ZOM, Standard Gold): 43,880,069 matches
- Blaise Matuidi (ZDM, Standard Gold): 31,387,718 matches
Fabinho from Liverpool FC and Kanté from Chelsea FC are currently the most popular players in FIFA 19. And at least Fabinho, based on the numbers, probably won’t be caught anymore, especially since he was already at the top in January. Following him are Pogba and de Bruyne, two more Premier League players, and Matuidi, a representative from Serie A.
Notably: Both Matuidi and Fabinho had an extremely good price-to-performance ratio. Although both only have an 85 rating, they offered a relatively low price over the course of the season and good combination possibilities for hybrid teams. Additionally, only players in central midfield made it to the top 5.

Varane and van Dijk are the third and fourth most popular players overall. However, it should be noted that the players had many special cards or new upgrade cards after winter, which may have been less common on the transfer market and influence the count only to a limited extent. The actual number of games played is likely much higher.
