Best Base Locations for Beginners
What materials are important at the beginning? Wood is one of the most important materials in Once Human, especially when you are still at the beginning. Therefore, we recommend the forest, as you are directly at the source here. In addition, the forest also provides you with a food source: Berries can be found around every corner.
The river or a body of water can also be quite useful at the beginning. You have plenty of fish and an inexhaustible source of water. The only downside: crocodiles. Be careful not to let the reptiles see you as a food source.
Ideally, at the beginning, you should set up your camp by a river that is also very close to a forest. This way, you have combined the advantages of these two locations.

Oil Fields near Blackfell
What materials are important later in the game? Oil is a material that you will need later in the game. But you will need it in large quantities. Therefore, we recommend the oil fields as a location for your base.
The eastern part next to Blackfell by the river is perfectly suited for this. You have the river, which can supply you with food and drink, and the oil fields, where you will find materials for your further gameplay.
But beware! Stronger enemies lurk here, who are quite capable of attacking you and your base. We recommend building a strong defense around your camp.
What materials are also important later? You should also have enough acid. An important material needed for almost all recipes. The more polluted the zone, the more acid you can farm.
We recommend the spots from level 30 onwards. But this location also has its disadvantage: the water is polluted, and you must purify it first if you want to drink it.
Can I move my base?
Yes, you can move your base. To do so, go to the new location where you want to set up your base, open the building menu, and press Z. A preview of your current base will appear, and you can select the exact spot where and how you want to place it. Then press the left mouse button to place it.
There is a cooldown that prevents you from setting up your base elsewhere immediately after moving it. The length of the cooldown depends on your level: if you have a low level, the cooldown lasts a few minutes, but if you have a high level, it can take up to 24 hours.
