Happy Birthday, Genshin Impact! However, the birthday wasn’t very “happy,” as the community is completely disappointed. Many were still hoping for a special announcement or surprise from Genshin Impact, in addition to the rewards and events they had previously teased.
As we reported on MeinMMO, players are upset about the meager gifts for Genshin Impact’s first birthday. Many fans hoped: Something is coming! But nothing came.
Genshin Impact remained silent about additional rewards. Instead, they released a promotional video that was immediately bombarded with 43,000 dislikes:
Google Play Store ratings dropped from 4.6 to 1.9 stars
What did the community do? For days, new angry posts have been made on social media, and now the community has started giving poor ratings in the Google Play Store. They want Genshin Impact to see how unhappy the fans are.
In Germany, the Google Play Store rating fell for a while from 4.6 to 1.9 stars. Meanwhile, some fans are trying to raise the ratings again because they find the reactions childish. Currently, the rating stands at 2.4 stars.
Additionally, reviewers report that 1-star ratings are being deleted.

Twitter user Ezeiko even posted a picture showing that the ratings dropped from 4.5 to 0.6 stars (via Twitter).
Also, the “Genshin Impact” streamer Enviosity addressed the Google Play Store reviews with his community. He humorously emphasized that ultimately everyone would return when the first important banner reruns featuring Ganyu and Hu Tao came (via YouTube).
What is the community writing in the reviews? The community mentions a past event in Liyue, where there were exactly the same login rewards as for the first birthday. Therefore, they are convinced that Genshin Impact is not making an effort and does not care about the anniversary.
The spelling has been adjusted in parts to make the comments more readable, but the content has not been changed.

And the anniversary reward is really a joke! Sorry, many wished for a free 5* character. No matter which one and 3K Primogems – that’s really a reward. But 1x 10 pull? It is not about the amount of the reward, but about the lack of effort. What kind of anniversary is this? It is not even celebrated. No new content, no special banner, not even a little effort. A classic login event that was completed within 10 minutes. The web story was pretty cool, but that is not very time-consuming either. And the concerns that nothing would come had already been there a month ago. Simply weak.

I started playing from scratch because I love the game. Qiqi sticker spam in the public Genshin Impact Discord
Who is Qiqi? Qiqi is a character from Genshin Impact who has a sticker in the game and Discord. The sticker features an expression of “oh great,” “uff,” or just “…”, implying silence.
This is what the public Discord of Genshin Impact looks like right now: In every chat in the “Teyvat” category, the one Qiqi sticker is currently being spammed. Occasionally, there is one or another message expressing criticism of the game or those spamming the sticker – nothing else.
The community is determined to show Genshin Impact that they are dissatisfied with the handling of the first anniversary. However, whether this will make any difference remains questionable. So far, Genshin Impact has not commented on this.
