You can currently play the action game Hitman The Complete First Season for free on PS4 – until early May. We explain what you need to consider and how you can play the action game for free.
What’s the deal with the free play? Sony and IO Interactive are currently allowing you to try the action game Hitman for free on PlayStation 4. After the PS Plus games for May have been heavily criticized, Hitman serves as a nice diversion. And the best part is that you don’t have to do much:
- You log into your PSN account and open the shop page
- Alternatively, you can also get the game directly through PlayStation and its store.
How long is Hitman 1 free on PS4? You can play the game on PS4 for free between April 30 and May 3 – and that includes the entire first season. It includes seven episodes and locations as well as six bonus missions – plenty to do for the duration of the trial.
Contrary to initial assumptions and reports on Reddit, “Hitman – The Complete First Season” is not permanently free on PS4 – even though 3 other games are currently being given away for PS4. Hitman is just a free trial. We have corrected the article accordingly.

What is Hitman anyway? In the game, you play as Agent 47, an elite killer genetically altered into the perfect killing machine. In various missions, your task is to eliminate specific targets. On PC, our colleagues from GameStar rate the game at 81 points (via GameStar.de).
The special thing about it is: You have complete freedom in how you eliminate the target. You can disguise yourself or use the environment of the game.
