You really want to finally buy a PS5? Today you might have the opportunity at Sony’s own store PlayStation Direct. MeinMMO presents all the important information for that.
Update, May 16, 10:30 AM: The factory sale at PlayStation Direct will start in a few moments. And apparently, there is a change in the usual procedure today. According to the updated FAQ on the homepage, it is now also possible to pay via PayPal for the first time. If there is to be a public sale afterwards, you will of course be informed immediately here as always.
The last months have been marked by many dry phases regarding PS5 drops and sales. Only Sony’s own store PlayStation Direct has proven to be a reliable retailer. By now, there is almost weekly the opportunity to buy a PS5 there.
As is typical for Sony, personalized email invitations were sent out again yesterday afternoon to selected PSN users. Through this link, you can access Sony’s shop and purchase a PS5 and the corresponding accessories. So make sure to check your spam folder to see if you’re one of the lucky ones.
In the past, there was often a public sale after the exclusive sale. Whether this will be the case today is unfortunately still unclear at this point.
The most important information about the sale at PlayStation Direct
Who can buy a PS5 today and where? On the official homepage of PlayStation Direct, if you received an email invitation yesterday, you can buy a PS5 today.
When is the sale starting? As is usually the case for factory sales from Sony, the sales action will also start today around 10:30 AM. Since, unfortunately, the quantities at this retailer have always been quite limited and usually sold out within 15-20 minutes, it is really worth being on time.
How can you pay? According to Sony’s official FAQ, there are currently only two payment methods (via direct.playstation.com). At this point in time, you can unfortunately only pay with Visa or Mastercard at PlayStation Direct in Germany. There are still no other options available. Invoice, direct debit, transfer, or Paypal are therefore not accepted.
