The retro shooter Ultrakill was released a few years ago in Early Access. Now the developers have released an ‘official mod’ that is quite bizarre. The mod named ‘UKButt’ allows you to support sex toys. You can find all the information about it in this article.
What is Ultrakill? Ultrakill is a brutal first-person shooter with retro graphics, reminiscent of various shooters from the 90s. The Early Access game currently costs you €20.99 on Steam and has 97% positive reviews (via Steam).
On December 8, 2022, Ultrakill received an official modification that probably hasn’t been seen in any other shooter before.
This is the UKButt mod for Ultrakill
What is this mod about? The new modification allows for the support of open-source software that can control the vibrations of Xbox controllers and other devices. That games get post-release rumble support is not particularly surprising.
The extremely long list of devices that, apart from Xbox gamepads, now work with Ultrakill is indeed surprising. The developers list a total of 503 devices for their game.
And as one might guess from the name of the software ‘buttplug.io‘, this is primarily about ‘other vibration-capable devices’, and not necessarily the Xbox gamepad.
The modification for Ultrakill that allows you this support from buttplug.io is called UKButt and can be downloaded from Github. On the homepage, you will also find a short guide for the installation and use of UKButt. The installation may seem a bit more complicated and requires a basic understanding of software. However, this should not pose too much of an obstacle for truly motivated players.
Here you can watch the official video about UKButt:
Once UKButt is installed, the rumble will be triggered in the vibrating device of your choice according to what is happening in Ultrakill.
The vibration triggers currently supported include firing your weapon, movement (sprinting, sliding, etc.), screen shake (e.g., shaking of the screen when you get hit), and various actions in the menu.
The community says about UKButt
How did the mod come about? UKButt was created in collaboration with buttplug.io CEO Kyle ‘qDot’ Machulis and the developer of Ultrakill ‘PITR’ about a week after Twitter user ShammyTV explicitly asked for the feature (via Twitter).
Although probably very few would associate a shooter, where blood-fueled robots invade hell, with sex, the community was immediately excited about the idea. Accordingly, the first reactions to the quickly implemented new mod have also been overwhelmingly positive (via Steam).
And Dave Oshry, the CEO of Ultrakill publisher ‘New Blood’, is also excited about UKButt:

He further explains somewhat puzzled: “At no point, when we originally tested or discussed the game with Hakita or anyone at New Blood, did anyone of us say: They will want sex.” Playfully, he then adds: “But: Congratulations on sex.”
