Which weapon is it about? It is the Reaper sniper, which first appeared in Fortnite with Chapter 5. The reliable leaker Hypex has presented a small list of exotic weapons that might return to the loot pool in the new Chapter 6 update – including this sniper (via x.com).

Why is the weapon controversial? The sniper has a special perk that allows you to track players who have taken damage. They are then marked, making it easier for you not to lose sight of them during a chase. In building mode, the weapon poses no threat, but when playing without building, opinions are divided.

Otherwise, one has no chance, as many players hide and kill their opponents from a distance with a single shot. Aggressive gameplay is punished by patient campers. If the weapon does indeed come, the meta could be shaken up.
When does the new update start? According to leakers, the update should take place on March 11, 2025, in the morning hours. However, the date has not yet been confirmed.
