The housing in World of Warcraft sparks inspiration – and sometimes leads to quite curious paths. But what did we expect?
Although the housing in World of Warcraft has only been available for a few days – and only for those who pre-ordered – there are already players who have invested many dozens of hours in their digital homes. The amount of creativity that comes to light and the passion with which some work on their own little projects is impressive.
We want to take a look at a few particularly creative or beautifully implemented ideas that have emerged in the community in recent days.
A small piece of Silvermoon
Although the decoration limit in outdoor areas is already quite low at 200, some manage to create something beautiful. Here we see AlligatorLunch, who has built two small, flying platforms in almost perfect Silvermoon style. A real eye-catcher in any neighborhood:
The only downside – there are hardly any objects left available for the actual house. Because the actual house is not visible in the picture.
The running horror machine
If you’re wondering how to drive your neighbors up the wall the most, Frofidor has the answer. He impressively shows that you can give your own house legs and fill it with technological structures of the mechagnomes.
So if something is running through a front yard soon, it might be this house that’s looking for a new property.
The flying house of the Void
Chunkeyninja has tried a different direction with a flying house. In the best style of the flying city of Dalaran, this building has also taken off and has received a Void touch. Therefore, he names his creation “Voidalaran”:
The house can only be reached by flying, but visually it is really well done.
A tavern, but without guests – yet!
Much more inviting is the house of Powerwordrush, who has built a large tavern that could accommodate at least 20 other characters to celebrate the victory together after a raid or a hearty battle in PvP.
Especially on RP realms, such houses are always popular and can become a real hub if word gets around.
The Xal’atath dakimakura (without feet!)
And – because I know you – to finish off with something quirky. The player no1mydnE was apparently so enamored with Xal’atath that he built his own Xal’atath to cuddle and love:

Cortyn says: I find it absolutely fascinating how much work and perseverance some are already putting into housing. The results speak a clear language. Those who take the effort to simply walk around in their own neighborhood and admire other houses will find many little masterpieces and perhaps even inspiration for their own buildings.
I am definitely looking forward to strolling through different neighborhoods in the coming days and weeks to see what friends, guild members, or even strangers have done with WoW’s new housing feature. And even if you don’t participate in the housing system – you can still make a lot of gold with it.
