A player has set out to destroy the Mythic Dawn cult from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered right at the beginning of the game. However, although he was on a good path, his endeavor is doomed to fail.
What kind of cult is this? The Mythic Dawn is a secret cult in the world of The Elder Scrolls that worships the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon. In Oblivion, this cult appears early in the game, where it incites assassins against Emperor Uriel Septim VII.
The prologue of Oblivion actually goes as follows:
- You start your adventure in the Imperial prison and are visited by the Emperor. He is just about to flee the city.
- The Emperor remembers seeing your face in his dreams and sees in you a future hero, which is why he frees you.
- At first, you fight your way through the prison’s sewers alone, but later you meet the Emperor again, where the assassins of the Mythic Dawn catch him.
“I killed the entire Mythic Dawn cult”
What did the player do? One player apparently was not satisfied with the Emperor dying so early. He shared a screenshot on Reddit, showing the bodies of the assassins piling up. He wrote: “I did it. I killed the entirety of the Mythic Dawn cult.”
However, the player is not getting any closer to his goal of saving the Emperor. As Same-Control3927 explains in his comment, these are all just clones: “I hate to say it, but those are just respawned bodies of the same few people,” he comments on Reddit.
The assassins keep respawning until the Emperor is dead. Therefore, you cannot save him. “On the way out, the Emperor stumbles over a body, hits his head and still dies,” jokes Sumoop regarding this fact under the post on Reddit.
Right at the beginning of the game, in Oblivion, you choose your race and also your star sign. You have the choice of 13 different star signs, but which one suits you best? We answer this question in our guide: Oblivion Remastered: Which star sign should I choose?
