Nvidia celebrates the release of Diablo 4 with a unique graphics card. 2 of them are being given away, but your chances of winning one are slim.
The GeForce RTX 4080 is currently the fastest graphics card you can buy for your gaming PC, second only to the RTX 4090. To celebrate the release of Diablo 4, the manufacturer Nvidia has introduced a special giveaway: 2 “RTX 4080” models in unique Diablo designs will be raffled off among gamers.
But your chances of winning the graphics card are low.
What makes the graphics card so special? The graphics cards are equipped with a unique backplate. They are usually found on the graphics card and serve only a design purpose. The performance remains unaffected. For the RTX 4080, you currently pay starting from 1,300 euros and more (via geizhals.de).
The giveaway is aimed at half the world
Who can participate? In addition to the USA, Canada, South Korea, and Australia, several European countries are allowed to participate in the giveaway via (nvidia.com). In theory, this amounts to about 2 billion people who could all throw their lottery ticket into the pot. In practice, of course, it’s fewer since there are many non-gamers, and not all are of legal age or even know about the giveaway.
Nonetheless, thousands of people are expected to participate in the giveaway. And with every participant, your chance of winning decreases. This is also why the chances for the grand prize are expected to be very low. For comparison: The odds of winning the jackpot in the lottery are 1 in 139,838,160, which is also extremely low.
- With a chance of 1 in 10,000, one wins on average 3,000 euros in the lottery, which could buy you an RTX 4080. The average probability is 0.0017 % (via studimup.de).
- If more than 20,000 people participate in the Nvidia giveaway, the chances of winning a graphics card decrease. This corresponds to less than 1 % of all active players of Diablo 4.
At least: The giveaway costs you nothing, while you have to invest money for the lottery, which in most cases you will not see again.
