League of Legends has many problems. Professionals and players from high ranks sometimes play with so-called smurf accounts to have an easy game. The German streamer NoWay has had enough of this and speaks out publicly against another streamer.
What happened? On X, the German streamer NoWay posted how it is even possible that TF Blade, a streamer and former LoL pro who has reached rank 1 in LoL multiple times, is playing on an Iron account. He also posts the match history, which clearly shows that he does not belong there. He always has double-digit kills and at most a single death.
Additionally, NoWay posts a picture of the new ranked guidelines from four weeks ago. Riot writes:
Nevertheless, we value the integrity of the ranking system very highly. So if you are a player who wants to create a new account to have fun beating low-ranked players, we want to be able to recognize this and ban your account.
Riot on smurf accounts
Essentially, it is not banned to have a second account or even a smurf account; however, if one intentionally loses or buys an account to play in lower ranks, Riot wants to take action against this.
Why do players do this? On the one hand, you can make streams or videos showing how good you are and how strongly you dominate in matches. On the other hand, there are also high-elo players who bring accounts to high ranks in order to sell them.
Smurfs have always been a big problem in LoL, which is why Riot regularly tries to combat this: LoL adopts the best change from Dota 2 in recent years, wants to ban annoying teammates
This gentleman also wants to take action against smurfs:
The community does not believe Riot will take action
On Reddit, NoWay’s tweet is discussed. Users like CinderrUwU are glad that finally a big streamer is saying something against such smurfs, and he hopes TF Blade will receive a punishment for it. Other users are not very hopeful and believe that Riot will do nothing against these smurfs:

Given how Riot treats content creators, nothing will happen and maybe a slap on the wrist will follow
Other players, however, criticize NoWay himself, as he has also played on fresh
accounts for his A to Z
project. The user le_Pumboi counters that NoWay received special accounts from Riot for such projects.
According to Acrobatic_Ad1311, NoWay asked Riot for a high-MMR
account because he would hate smurfs himself.
Smurfs are not only a big problem in League of Legends. Taking action against them is a difficult undertaking, especially since Riot also benefits from such content creators. Whether TF Blade will face consequences for his smurf account is currently unknown. What do you think about this? Do you think it’s good that larger streamers are also speaking out against smurfs?
