Even before the official show for Pokémon Day, which is set to take place on February 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM, new content for Pokémon TCG Pocket has been revealed. There is one detail that fans are particularly excited about.
What new content is there? Fans can look forward to 2 new pieces of content that will launch in March 2025. These include a new mode and a new set:
- The new set is called “Triumphant Light” and brings Arceus-ex into the digital trading card game. This Pokémon has the special ability of not being affected by other special abilities. The leak comes from a TikTok ad (via Reddit).
- Additionally, there is supposed to be a new Ranked mode. This will likely rank players based on their skill and number of wins in PvP mode. The leak comes from the X user who has also previously published the trading rules and some sets in advance.
The Ranked mode is set to be released in March 2025. No date was mentioned in the ad for the new set. However, thanks to previous leaks, we can assume that the next set will be released on February 28, 2025, one day after Pokémon Day.
The next set is an addition to the two boosters from Collision of Space and Time

New Ranked Mode Could End Long Drought
What are players excited about in the new Ranked mode? In some comments, users write in a Reddit thread that the Ranked mode finally creates an incentive to check back into the game. Many collectors had only logged in to complete events. Aside from that, there was no exciting mode for them.
This is also clear when looking at other threads on Reddit: Here there are numerous memes showing users during their daily rounds through the app. They open their packs, find only common cards, and close the app again.
A Reddit user even suggests releasing more modes for the battle mode. He would enjoy playing with special rules. An example has already been tried out by the community: battles without the powerful ex-cards.
Another feature that was supposed to bring variety is the trading feature. However, many players cannot afford the costs and are angry about the restrictions on the feature: Players with a lot of money avoid trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket because it is too expensive even for them
