Ubisoft has launched a clever new advertising campaign.
In the style of a serious presentation of innovative technology, Ubisoft presents the new device “Nosulus Rift”, which is promised to be unveiled at Gamescom: It is essentially like the VR headset Oculus Rift…. only for the nose. The player does not see virtual reality, they smell it.
Allegedly, this is needed to do justice to the new “South Park” game: South Park – “The Fractured But Whole”. This puts [Spoiler Alert] immense emphasis on flatulence. Only with the Nosulus Rift can complete immersion be guaranteed.
For Gamescom, Ubisoft promises players the chance to try the Nosulus Rift at their booth. However, whether the device will actually go into mass production seems very questionable. It’s more likely to see the Nosulus Rift as a humorous, clever and product-appropriate advertisement for the South Park game.
