The new Season 4 in Diablo 4 excites players and brings a ton of new content. At least one of these new features is causing problems now: The new Hellworms, which are supposed to spit out opponents in front of you.
What kind of worms are these?
- In Season 4, Hell Floods have been revamped. They are now significantly more dangerous and the more enemies you kill, the stronger the Hells fight back.
- If you are threatening enough, demons send huge worms to the surface. They burrow through the ground and choke up various demons in large packs. Great for farming.
- However, these very worms have been causing a problem since the release of Season 4 because: You cannot fight them, but they do block the map.
You can find all information about Season 4 in our overview.
This is the problem with the beasts: The Hellworms are enormous. Their model is only slightly smaller than a world boss and, like all enemies in Diablo 4, you cannot just walk through them. Their figures block the way.
Actually, this isn’t too bad since the worms burrow out of the ground, regurgitate once, and then go back. It’s just that they apparently do not completely disappear: Even when they are gone, their model remains invisible on the surface.
You can’t see the worm anymore, but it blocks the way. So if you are wondering why you can’t reach a certain point in a Hell Flood, it’s because of the worms. You do not lose connection to the server.
Players cannot loot, Blizzard is working on the problem
On Reddit, questions about these invisible walls keep coming up. Players are understandably annoyed that they suddenly cannot walk through somewhere. Worse yet: They lose loot.
The invisible models not only block the way for your character, but with some bad luck, there is an item in the middle of them that you cannot pick up. The most important items will be sent to you anyway, but it’s still annoying.
On X, Community Director Adam Fletcher confirmed shortly after the start of the season that the team is working on a solution. So far, however, there is still no hotfix or patch for the problem. A few workarounds that we know of:
- Teleports to and from the city should help.
- Abilities like the Sorceress’s teleport that take you to another location help.
- Most skills that allow you to move through enemies should also work.
According to some reports, the problem exists even outside of Hell Floods when the event is actually over. It is particularly annoying when you are trying to move at top speed with a horse and suddenly get halted. Some players even say they have been locked out of world bosses.
Despite the bug and some other smaller issues, Season 4 is well-received by players. Even on X, users are congratulating the team on the successful rebirth
of Diablo 4. The season has completely overhauled the game and adjusted nearly every core system. Fans largely agree that everything just fits: “Imagine if it had been like this since release” – Season 4 excites players because they can just play
