No Man’s Sky has been expanded. The newly released Foundation update introduces a completely new game mode and allows you to build bases!
For a long time, Hello Games, the developers of the space exploration game No Man’s Sky, were quiet. While criticism of the online game poured in, the team worked on patches and the Foundation update, which has now been released. With this, the new Creative Mode is introduced.
Update to No Man’s Sky: This is a good foundation
Those who play in this mode are allowed to choose a planet in the vast galaxy as their home. The prerequisite is that there must be an abandoned base there. You claim it for yourself and expand it. To do this, you look for resources to create new objects such as decorations or modular structures. To develop new technologies, you need to hire alien researchers who will do this work for you. So you explore new farming, weapon, and other technologies.
Using a Terminus Transporter, you can teleport to your base at any time. If you find a better location for it, you simply dismantle it, receive all the resources back, and rebuild it at a different location. Through the Hydroponic Labs, you can grow and cultivate plants yourself. This provides you with a steady stream of corresponding resources. By hiring farming specialists, you grow new plant species and thus discover new elements.
Foundation Update: A ton of new features
Everywhere on the planets, you can set save points or waypoints, and send automated “harvesters” to collect minerals for you. Through transmitters, you leave messages for other players. It is now also possible for you to acquire freighters that transport resources for you. You can call the freighters to you at any time. In the cargo holds, you can also build a Hydroponic Lab and it is possible to hire a crew. Freighters are essentially mobile bases.
New resources, an overhauled UI, new graphic effects, as well as bug fixes and balancing adjustments round off the Foundation update for No Man’s Sky. Future updates for the online game will be based on the Foundation update. The base building is expected to be significantly expanded.
