In No Man’s Sky, a fan purchased a leaked copy for a lot of cash. Now, spoilers are circulating.
In less than two weeks, it will be time. The highly anticipated space simulation No Man’s Sky will be released. In North America, it launches on August 9, and in Europe, it starts on August 10. Then the painfully long wait will finally be over.
However, a fan did not want to endure this torture for another two weeks. He managed to get access to the game early. However, he had to pay a hefty price for it.
Shut Up And Take My Money!
The Reddit user daymeeuhn is the “lucky one” who already has No Man’s Sky in his hands. However, he paid a multiple of what the game actually costs: He was willing to spend a staggering $1302.95 for it.
According to his own statements, he acquired the leaked copy of No Man’s Sky from a seller on eBay. Yesterday, the game was delivered to him. As proof of authenticity, he released a video of himself unboxing No Man’s Sky and installing it on his PS4:
However, this video is not the only one that the proud owner of the space simulation posted online. Gradually, he presented short videos with gameplay footage from his explorations, which are full of spoilers. These spread quickly online and were found on various video platforms, from which they have since been removed. However, they can still be tracked down in some corners of the global internet.
The founder of the developer studio Hello Games, Sean Murray, promptly responded to this incident and warned fans via Twitter that there is material about No Man’s Sky online that they should not look at.
He writes that they have filled No Man’s Sky with surprises for years and that you have waited for years. “Please don’t spoil it for yourselves now.” In another tweet, he reminds everyone that they can experience it “very soon”.
Fan Doesn’t Want to Spoil Anymore
Shortly after Murray issued this warning and request, daymeeuhn edited his post on Reddit. He writes that he doesn’t want to be the guy who spoils all the cool stuff, and therefore he will keep it to himself now. He never intended to spoil the game completely. He just wanted to convey a sense of the game’s atmosphere that so many people are excited about. The Redditor:
I hope you enjoy the first videos! But from now on, I will just play the game, keep it to myself, and enjoy it.
The user had to endure a lot of criticism and hostility for his spoilers. Nevertheless, he says in a conversation with Kotaku that he is still happy with his purchase. He absolutely does not regret it.
We advise against searching for these videos online. Don’t ruin the fun for yourself.
