In No Man’s Sky, the new “Origins” update has launched. This brings a larger game world and new planets and creatures to discover, which puts players in euphoria.
What is this update? The new Origins update for No Man’s Sky was recently announced, and is supposed to be the “beginning of something new“. It is expected to be a step in a new direction, similar to the first major update “Foundation” from four years ago.
This step takes the form of plenty of new content. The world you can explore in No Man’s Sky will be much more varied than before.
“Millions of Untouched Worlds”
What you can now discover: The Origins update expands the game on many fronts. Among other things, there are now new planets in the already existing solar systems – the developers speak of “millions of untouched worlds to explore”.
The landscapes have also changed: mountains, for example, are now bigger and provide great new scenery, while swamps offer a less inviting habitat. New additions to the flora and fauna are also included.
Among other things, you can now encounter the monstrous sandworms that wreaked havoc in the original “No Man’s Sky” trailer, but only now make it into the game.
And, as seen in the trailer, these creatures have really grown big.
This update, however, is far from over:
- The weather on the planets will be more varied
- The worlds can be plagued by volcanoes and meteor showers.
- There are new archives filled with old data and treasures that you can now also discover.
Apart from the explorer paths, there are also improved menus, new color palettes, and a new teleporter interface.
Fans Celebrate New Update
With the new update, you can tell that the days of the disastrous No Man’s Sky launch are long gone. The game has apparently regained the trust of its fanbase – and the new update is already impressing players.
The trailer currently has 8083 positive and 57 negative ratings (Wednesday, September 23, 7 PM). A clear positive trend is recognizable. The comments support this as well:
- “I just went through the feature list on the website. And I tell you: The trailer shows nothing compared to the number of things in this release,” says user kusal (via YouTube): “[…] They just changed the game… and didn’t charge a cent extra.”
- “This is the greatest redemption story of all time,” says user Aryx (via YouTube).
- “If this excites you more than any other update, then you know you are a No Man’s Sky fan from day one,” says user Spencer Turley (via YouTube).
Also, the fact that the sandworms are actually landing in the game is repeatedly viewed positively in the comments – albeit with surprise. It seems to have struck a chord with players.
Furthermore, No Man’s Sky was already among the best survival games you can play in 2020.
