As Epic announced on short notice, the announced Jetpack will not be finding its way to Fortnite: Battle Royale anytime soon. At least, an alternative is ready – the Hunting Rifle. What’s going on?
This is surprising: Epic recently announced that the Jetpack will not be added to Fortnite: Battle Royale this week. However, Epic has at least prepared an alternative: the Hunting Rifle. It already exists in the PvE mode “Save the World”.
Additionally, Epic mentions in a Reddit post a new “lucky point of interest” on the map of Fortnite: Battle Royale – that is, a new interesting location on the map that somehow has to do with luck.
The release of the Jetpack had to be postponed at short notice due to a “design problem” that needs to be resolved first.

What can the Hunting Rifle do? And what is the mysterious new point on the map?
The Hunting Rifle – no scope, but plenty of punch
How the Hunting Rifle will perform in Battle Royale mode is still unknown. At least we can orient ourselves based on the PvE content – the weapon has been there for a while.
In the “Save the World” mode, the Hunting Rifle is a solid sniper with decent damage at medium and long ranges. You can fire the weapon quickly, but you’ll lose accuracy.
The special thing about this weapon: Instead of heavy ammunition, you need medium ammo for the Hunting Rifle, which is also used in assault rifles and revolvers.

How the Hunting Rifle will perform in Battle Royale mode remains to be seen. Alongside the two standard sniper rifles and the new crossbow, Epic would introduce a fourth ranged variant to the game.
Will, for example, the semi-automatic sniper rifles be removed from the game as compensation? It’s conceivable, as there would then be plenty of options for long distances with the Hunting Rifle.
What is the new lucky spot on the map?
This is not known either. Epic is vague here. Is the new point on the map supposed to lessen the focus on Tilted Towers? We will only know this once a corresponding update goes live.
You can expect the Hunting Rifle and the mysterious new point on the map still this week. We are curious about what Epic has planned here.

The Jetpack, however, should not be long in coming – it could make its debut in Fortnite: Battle Royale as early as next week.
This player shows, by the way, how to get kills from the air even without a Jetpack!
What do you think about that? Are you sad that the Jetpack has been delayed?
