What kind of Switch version is this? Nintendo has introduced a new version of the Nintendo Switch in a design that matches the upcoming Pokémon games Scarlet and Violet. And what should I say … I will do my best to get one.
Why is the console so interesting to me? I have been a Pokémon fan for years, but I have so far resisted buying a Switch. The console simply did not convince me until now.
Nevertheless, I have been monitoring the market for months and hope for a discount, after all, the release of Scarlet and Violet is imminent. For the 9th generation of pocket monsters, I not only want to re-enter the franchise, I also need to catch up on the games Sword and Shield and Legends: Arceus.

Of course, Nintendo has now managed to get me off my saving spree, and I am even tempted to get one of the more expensive variants of the Switch. I can’t exactly explain why I want the special version; I simply like the design, although the Pokémon style certainly helped in convincing me.

As you can see from the images, not only is the Switch and its back wrapped in the special design, but also the Joy-Cons and the dock.
While the Joy-Cons are also an eye-catcher, personally, I will probably get a handheld controller for the Switch, as for me, the design of the back is the main point. The controller also allows for a better grip on the console.
In general, the order of the Switch in the special design also includes the following items:
- Joy-Con L & R in special design
- Joy-Con straps in special design
- Nintendo Switch Dock in special design
- Nintendo Switch AC Adapter
- 1x High-speed HDMI cable
- Joy-Con Grip
To my disappointment, I unfortunately found out that the Switch is not available in a bundle with Pokémon Scarlet or Violet. Nintendo emphasizes that the games must be purchased separately.
Which model of the Switch is this? The Switch version in Pokémon design is the OLED model, particularly intended for users who want to use a Switch frequently in handheld mode.

When is the release? Nintendo states on its website that the special version of the Switch will be available from November. A specific date when the console can be ordered has not yet been given by Nintendo.
What do we know about the price? At the current time, no price for the special version of the Switch is known. The Switch in the special design for the colorful shooter Splatoon 3 is traded for €349.00 on Amazon. The Pokémon version could therefore be in a similar price range.
The normal Switch OLED usually costs around €339.99. So I have to pay a small premium for the special design.
