The YouTuber Scott Wozniak has been gifted the Switch 2 by Nintendo, but he has better use for it than keeping it.
Who is it about? Nintendo has gifted the American YouTuber Scott Wozniak, better known as Scott the Woz, the new Nintendo Switch 2 along with a Pro Controller, the camera, and Mario Kart World.
- Wozniak has around 2 million subscribers on YouTube. His videos consistently reach several million views.
- In his videos, Wozniak covers video games, gaming hardware, and video game history while presenting these topics with a healthy dose of humor.
- The two most popular videos on the channel deal with game controllers and the history of Nintendo, each having been viewed 11 million times.
Scott has also repeatedly addressed the Nintendo Switch in his videos, so it was obvious that the Japanese company would also provide a version of the successor – but he doesn’t need the gift at all.
Gift with Heart
Why can’t he make use of the gift? Wozniak reports in a post on X that he doesn’t actually need the Switch 2 that Nintendo sent him. The YouTuber had already bought the console 3 times by that point.
What is he doing now with the gift? As Wozniak explains in the post, he donated the Switch 2 that Nintendo sent him to the Statewide Children’s Hospital in Toledo (Ohio, USA).
After that, he played the new Mario Kart World with the children. He writes: ‘HA, take that Nintendo!’ However, he also thanks the company for allowing the children to have this experience: ‘The kids were thrilled to get the system so shortly after its release. Thank you for the opportunity!’
Wozniak’s charitable act is well received on social media. The post garnered over 114,000 likes in just 2 days and was shared thousands of times. Users are asking in the comments how they can replicate it so there are 2 of them. Others write that they have tears in their eyes or are simply glad there are still people with heart.
We also have content creators in Germany who regularly advocate for the welfare of sick children. The Twitch streamer Metashi12, for instance, raises money for charity every year as part of the event he founded called ‘March with Heart’ and achieves something special: A German Twitch streamer has been raising money for children with cancer for 5 years – achieving a special milestone
