The mixer-streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins (28) claims in a podcast that he could easily be one of the best Fortnite players if he really puts in the effort. But is he not already too “old” for that?
This is the situation: In the podcast “Zapped with Bob Menery,” Ninja made an appearance. There, he talked about his career, gaming, and his chances in the competitive scene of Fortnite.
He was asked whether he is the best Fortnite player in the world, and Ninja had a clear answer to that.
He just needs practice
What did Ninja say about this question? When asked if he is the best Fortnite player, Ninja clearly responded: “No, absolutely not.”
But Ninja does not think he has no chance of becoming one of the best.
“I think I could definitely be one of the top 50 players in Fortnite if I play, practice, and grind in creative mode.”
Ninja in the podcast
In creative mode, you can practice a lot. There are maps that can be used to perfect building and editing.
The Fortnite star seems to believe that he just needs to practice a lot there, and then he would easily rank among the best Fortnite players.

Can he still succeed at his age?
Does the streamer even have a chance against the younger generation? The younger generation seems to dominate the Fortnite eSports scene. One can see on the unofficial world ranking list from Fortnitetracker:
- Zayt (20) in 54th place
- MrSavage (15) in 61st place
- Clix (15) in 64th place
Ninja’s former duo partner Reverse2k (18) is in 345th place. Compared to the other professionals, Ninja is in 1475th place.
Even Ninja’s rival Tfue, who wanted to fight him, makes it to 100th place on the world ranking list.
The oldest player, Nate Hill, who qualified for the Fortnite World Championship (2019), was 24 years old. So it seems rather unlikely for Ninja, at nearly 29 years old, to rise among the young Fortnite professionals.
Ninja had his golden days in eSports with Halo, Destiny, PUBG, and the beginnings of Fortnite. He himself says, the young people today do not realize how good they have it in eSports. In the past, tournaments were much more demanding and there were not such large cash prizes to win. So he places himself more in the older generation.
