In Fortnite , the Twitch star Ninja was playing with his crew, including Nickmercs and CouRage. The 4th place in the squad was taken by a random player, who turned out to be a young fan of Ninja. The conversation started off cute but then took a dark turn.
This was the situation: The biggest Twitch streamer in the world, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, was playing a round of Squad in Fortnite. He had two of the “usual suspects” with him, controller player Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, but was still waiting for the fourth teammate.
So he left a spot open and turned on “Fill”. Chance then decided who got the 4th spot and could suddenly play and chat live in front of tens of thousands of viewers.
After all, Ninja has the largest Twitch channel in the world with 14,553,681 followers.
This is how it began: It all started off cute. A seemingly very young Fortnite player joined the team filled with Twitch stars. The boy exclaimed, “Oh my God, it’s Ninja” and seemed to be starstruck.
The streamers had a little fun with it. “I can hardly believe it either.”
Courage and Nickmercs at least pretended to feel a bit sidelined: “Hey, I’m here too,” Courage says. Nickmercs adds: “I’m the guy who always plays with a controller.”

This is how the mood shifted: However, when the boy later got eliminated from the game, far away from the three streamers, as reported by Dexerto, the tone changed.
The boy began to use the racial slur that starts with “N” and is considered an absolute taboo word in the USA that should never be spoken. The streamers cleared their throats and tried to cover it up. But when the boy repeated the word, he was quickly muted.
He was even asked: “Are you okay? Who taught you to talk like that, you little rat?”
Ninja added: “This really escalated.”
Words like the “N” word are regularly punished with bans on Twitch. Even the WoW enemies “Naga” are dangerous.
The incident recalls an encounter with Twitch streamer Pokimane that went similarly.
