The professional streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins praised Season 2 in Fortnite at first: He saw the new spot “Agency” as a replacement for Tilted Towers, the legendary location from Chapter 1. But a month later, the streamer noticed big problems: 75% of players died in 4 minutes. The game was laggy. Now he wishes for the old map back.
This was the big change with Season 2: On February 20, Season 2 in Fortnite began. One of the biggest changes was the 5 new spots on the map, where players could fight against henchmen and villains, against PvE enemies.
Whoever “wins” one of these spots at the end goes into the rest of the match with a mythical weapon and fully equipped, as they can loot the coveted vault.
Especially important in Season 2 is the new central spot on the map, “Agency”, where henchmen and the villain Midas lurk. The Agency quickly crystallized as a new hotspot on the map. Many players land here – just like once in “Tilted Towers”.
Season 2 was for Ninja again “like the good old Fortnite”
This is what Ninja said about the release of Season 2: Ninja praised the spot, the Agency, in Fortnite extensively at the end of February. He said it felt like the old Fortnite again after this update. Because the spot Agency is like the old Tilted Towers:
- One lands without mats, has early fights again and has to use the items they find
- The fights there involve minimal building – there are no wild edits, it is again “Spray and Pray”: shoot away and hope to hit something
- Season 2 is like the early Fortnite, like Tilted Towers – those who see it differently are denying reality
Ninja found the beginning of Season 2 excellent. He even said he prefers the “Agency” over Tilted Towers. But it is basically the same thing: Just a hotspot where many land at the beginning of a fight and clash.
Ninja wants the old map back
This is what Ninja says now: The streamer’s love for Season 2 has noticeably cooled a month later. Now, at the end of March, he calls on Epic to bring back the old map.

This is behind it: It has always been the case with Fortnite that the start of a season was exciting because that’s when the big changes come. After a while, everyone gets used to the new rules.
The spot “Agency” is interesting because it gives the Chapter 2 map of Fortnite a hotspot that the map didn’t have before. This significantly changes the dynamics of a match because it leads to early fights where many go down. If you land away from the Agency, you can make it to the endgame without seeing many fights. Therefore, Ninja has a point that such hotspots bring both advantages and disadvantages.
Ninja’s criticism mainly targets the fact that Fortnite has been significantly less changed since Chapter 2. Epic has apparently shifted gears here. In 2019 it became known that Epic can only maintain the insane development pace for Fortnite with a lot of pressure and endless overtime . Apparently, they have backed off for the past six months.
Nonetheless, Fortnite has picked up pace again with new modes and features in recent weeks, but apparently not enough for Ninja, who longs for the good old days.
