The most dangerous place in all of Night City is undoubtedly Pacifica. Because here the dystopia of Cyberpunk 2077 is stripped of its neon-colored mask of capitalism and hedonism, revealing only apocalypse.
Pacifica was once supposed to be a place of leisure, entertainment, and ringing cash. A boardwalk with hotels and resorts, pools, malls, and even an amusement park. However, what remains are half-implemented construction sites, half-broken advertisements, and a lot of crime.
Pacifica is so contested by gangs and now so destroyed that even the NCPD has given up trying to bring any semblance of order here. Here, it is “eat or be eaten”.
And hardly any place illustrates this motto better than Dogtown, a district added in the Phantom Liberty DLC.
There, the former soldier and lieutenant Kurt Hansen has risen to the top of the food chain and rules over the dilapidated place as if he were Saburo Arasaka of his own kingdom. But even under his “order”, neither Dogtown nor Pacifica becomes a more pleasant place.
Anyone who does not become part of Hansen’s own army has poor odds of living safely in Pacifica, let alone surviving. Very poor odds.
These were the worst and most dangerous places in Night City where you would rather live involuntarily. The safety – or rather the lack thereof – is primarily determined by the nature and presence of the gangs that dwell in these locations and claim them as their territory.
