Watson is a tragic sight of unused potential and what the forsaken can still do with the unfinished project. Watson was supposed to become a place of culture and nightlife, offering a high-end medical center by day as well as large corporate headquarters and fancy skyscrapers.
However, the economic crisis put a heavy damper on those plans.
In 2077, Watson is known as the remnant of a motivated dream that has now become the playground of gangs who thrive there. Yes, you find gangs all over Night City, and the Mox from Kabuki are also rather territorial and only seek trouble if you threaten them or provoke them too much.
However, in Northside, there are still the members of Maelstrom, and they are of a whole different caliber.
The rest of Watson, which does not belong to the territory of the Mox or Maelstrom and is not yet utterly run-down, belongs to Arasaka. And that fact doesn’t help the quality of life in any way.
A real major advantage of Watson that should not go unmentioned: Due to the area’s large rat infestation, the Night City Environmental Agency has placed many stray cats in Watson to combat this problem. Therefore, at least you have cute neighbors there.
