Heywood is less a residential area and more a battleground for gangs like the Valentinos and 6th Street. This is where the shrinking middle class of Night City has settled, whose daily life is characterized not by luxury or pure poverty, but by the most dangerous commutes to 9-to-5 jobs.
Here live the people who have managed to escape the worse places ranked 3 to 1, but have not been able to leave Heywood for generations.
For this reason, community is greatly emphasized in Heywood, which strengthens cohesion but also explains the increasing influx of gang members.
Here, young people are already choosing either a path to the Valentinos for familial reasons or a path to 6th Street out of a deep sense of injustice and patriotism.
Heywood is one of the few places where most residents actually like to live with all the good and bad aspects they encounter on the streets. However, that does not make the place any less dangerous – especially for outsiders.
