The popular and much-loved JRPG Ni No Kuni makes the leap from single-player adventure into the MMO cosmos. After the mobile MMORPG has already been released in Asia, a global PC version is now also expected.
In the latest financial report from the publisher Netmarble, the release date of Ni No Kuni: Cross World for the rest of the world was announced for 2022. The MMORPG has already been released as a mobile title in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea since June 2021.
What we know about Ni No Kuni: Cross World
When can you play it? Since June 10, 2021, Ni No Kuni: Cross World has been playable in Japan and East Asia. There, fans can only play the MMORPG on their smartphones for now. As the website TwistedVoxel reports, a Taiwanese rating board already hinted at a PC version weeks ago (via TwistedVoxel.com).
A current financial report from Netmarble shows: The team is indeed working on a PC version of Ni No Kuni: Cross World. Right at launch, PC and mobile users can even play together thanks to crossplay. A rough timeframe for this release is already set. It is expected to be released worldwide in the first quarter of 2022.
So far, the reception has been good: Despite the fact that Ni No Kuni: Cross World was only released a few months ago in Japan and South Korea, it is already one of the most profitable MMORPGs for Netmarble. Cross World generated around €101 million for Netmarble just 11 days after its release. This amounts to 12 percent of the total revenue of the development studio. Even the world’s most successful mobile game, Pokémon Go cannot compete with this amount.
What can you expect in Ni No Kuni: Cross World?
