The Korean gaming publisher Nexon has made significant acquisitions. In May 2018, the company bought 30% of the shares of NAT Games. This is the developer behind the popular mobile game HIT. Now Nexon plans to bring the new mobile game OVERHIT to Europe.
Overall, Nexon now controls 48.3% of the NAT Games shares and is thus the main shareholder of the developer. The publisher is now planning to bring NAT’s latest game to the West.
Publisher giant and one-hit-wonder developer join forces
What is Nexon known for? In Korea, Nexon is regarded as one of the largest gaming publishers for mobile and online PC games.
However, the company is less known here, as only a few of their games have been released outside of Korea or Japan.

Most players will have heard the name Nexon in connection with titles such as the MapleStory games, Atlantica Online, and Tree of Savior.
Who are NAT Games? The developer of mobile games is known in Korea for their game “Heroes of Incredible Tales” (HIT).
It quickly gained huge popularity due to its extremely beautiful graphics and diverse gameplay, which led to Nexon acquiring a large share of NAT Games at the end of 2017.
What is Overhit? The sequel to NAT Games’ first title was released in Korea last autumn.

It is a turn-based collector RPG where players can collect items and characters to create the perfect battle team.
The game’s skill system is based on two characters teaming up to perform a powerful combo attack on the opponent.

Fans of PvP will enjoy Overhit as it offers various modes to compete against other players – both in turn-based systems and in real-time.

Will Overhit be localized? After the Korea launch in November 2017, Overhit is expected to come to Japan in spring 2018.
However, throughout the year, it will also be available for Western players. A specific release date is not yet known.

The high graphical requirements may cause some smartphones to struggle. Accordingly, Nexon is currently working on a version with lower requirements to reach a larger audience.
Without Nexon’s support, NAT Games would not have had the resources to bring Overhit to Europe and America.
