The raw material fibers (engl. “Fiber”) are used in crafting New World to produce linen. We at MeinMMO reveal where you can obtain fibers.
What are fibers used for? From fibers, you can create linen at the loom. Linen is the first raw material you need for light linen armor and leather armor in the game.
Where can you find fibers? Fibers can only be found in forest and grassland areas. There, you need to interact with the plant “Hemp” and collect the fibers.

A good overview of the resources is basically provided by the map. Open it with the “M” key and click on “Places with Resources”. There you can see where the different raw materials are located and can also recognize from the map’s texture what kind of landscape you are in.
Helpful in the search for materials is this interactive map by players, which clearly shows where you can find fibers, oil, and other raw materials.
With which level can you harvest hemp? You can theoretically harvest hemp directly at level 1. There are no restrictions regarding this. However, you will only find the first hemp from level 5 onwards and will also need it later in crafting.
You need a sickle to harvest the hemp.
