In New World the Winter Convergence event starts on December 10. This brings new event activities, quests, and numerous rewards that you can exchange with a special vendor. We at MeinMMO are revealing everything important about the event in this guide.
What kind of event is this? From December 10, 2024, to early January, the Winter event of New World will take place. The highlights of the event are:
- Winter Wanderer tasks that guide you through the rest of the event.
- Crafting stations for holiday-themed plans.
- Access to the Winter Convergence store, where you can exchange winter tokens and receive event-specific rewards – from cosmetic items like armor and weapon skins with winter themes to festive emotes.
Is the event worth it? Yes, because you can unlock some useful gear, decorations for your house, and new emotes. Additionally, during the event, you will receive Diamond Gypsum, which you can use to increase your expertise.

Winter villages bring new quests and event vendors
How do you best get into the Winter event? At the beginning, you should visit one of the Winter villages. These are located in the areas of Monarch’s Bluffs, Everfall, Brightwood, and Weaver’s Fen.
They have their own fast travel point (which you need to unlock first) and are also marked on the map. However, we have marked the exact locations here on the map with a red circle:
In these villages, you will meet the Winter Wanderer, a giant Yeti. He gives you the first quest in a series of a total of 7 tasks. Note: The first quest “The Winter Convergence” can only be started at level 25. To participate in all activities of the event, you need level 60.
The quests are relatively simple and basically explain the event. You will need to visit vendors and town boards, find gifts, or mine Glitterite.
As rewards for the quests, you can earn experience points, coins, territory standing, and Azoth. Additionally, there are two special event rewards:
- Event standing – reputation at the winter event
- Winter tokens – the currency that can be exchanged with the reputation vendor
How else can you obtain Winter tokens? Winter tokens can be obtained through various activities:
- Completion of winter event quests.
- Interaction with the “Trees of Light” in all major settlements.
- Refining 3 recovered gifts into a winter token. You can collect gifts in the open world.
- Refining 10 Glitterite crystals into a winter token. The crystals appear at night in Aeternum. You will see a rift in the sky at the corresponding locations, from which Glitterite will rain down.
- In exchange for the trophies you receive from the Winter Warrior.
The crafting interface is opened through the carts located in the winter villages. The first event quest in the game will explain how this works. In the same crafting interface, you can create a High-Quality Winter Token from 25 winter tokens. This is also required for rewards at the event vendor.
What do you get from fighting the Winter Warrior? For defeating the new boss, you receive trophies that you can convert into winter tokens. You will find him in the Depth’s Edge, Brightwood, Edenhain, Everfall, and the Sulfur Sand Desert.
You can see the current location of the Winter Warrior on the world map. However, you need at least 20 or more players to defeat him. Especially at the beginning of the event, the boss is farmed by huge hordes.
Earning event standing – Here’s how it works
How do you earn reputation for the Winter Festival? Through the quest series, you earn enough reputation to reach about level 2.5 with the vendor. You will then receive the quest where you are supposed to grind to level 3. However, to do so, you will need to farm reputation. This can be done through the following methods:
- Completing the special town quests that were introduced with the Winter Day. This includes crafting tasks that reward you with reputation.
- Finding gifts in the open world – each worth 5 standing.
- Interacting with the “Trees of Light” located in the cities of the game. These cities include all areas where factions can control the territory. You can visit each tree once per day, and each one gives – depending on the level of settlement expansion – 50 to 150 standing.
- By defeating the Winter Warrior.
If you want to make the most of the event, you need to visit all 11 settlements in the game daily. Houses in the right locations can help with this.

All the rewards of the event
What rewards can be found at the event vendor? Visit the holiday huts in each winter village to craft winter tokens in exchange for lost gifts, Glitterite, or Warrior hail tips. The rewards are divided into five tiers.
At tier 1 (0 standing), you can purchase buff food (Spiced Punch, Nibbler Wraps, Cozy Cake, Buttercream Pudding, Ginger Snap) that increases your chances of Glitterite crystals. Each costs 2 winter tokens.
At tier 2 (1,000 standing), there are special musical instruments and new housing decorations. However, you need to spend High-Quality Winter tokens to buy these.
Tier 3 (2,500 standing) brings gear with an armor value of 400, as well as a snow-covered rabbit sculpture.
Tier 4 (5,000 standing) brings you schematics for various skins, the emote “Present Hand Off”, and various new housing items.
The final tier 5 (9,000 standing) brings the emotes “Glitterite-Juggling”, “Snow Throwing”, and “Shrug Dance”, the cosmetic outfit of the Winter Wanderer, a winter tent, and two decorations.
The highlight here is special schematics that allow you to use the appearance of equipment in crafting. This means you can theoretically craft weapons and armor in a winter look that still have an armor value of 600.
12 new Points of Interest
What’s the deal with the Points of Interest? In various areas of New World, there are new caves inhabited by Yetis. A total of 12 of these Points of Interest have been introduced, including in the areas of Monarch’s Bluffs, Everfall, Edenhain, Depth’s Edge, and Broken Mountain.
At the end of each cave, there’s a boss with a chest from which you can receive good loot.

Improving expertise through the winter event
What do endgame players get from the event? Those working on their expertise level can also benefit from the event. The first 6 interactions with a Tree of Light will reward level 60 characters with Diamond Gypsum.
From 3 Diamond Gypsum, you can create a Gypsum Orb. This can be done at a Gypsum oven, which you can find in various, but not all cities.
You can make a Gypsum casting for a weapon or an equipment item from the Gypsum Orb. This only costs coins. You can then use the casting to increase your expertise by 1 to 3 on the respective item.
