New World starts today, on September 9th, with the Open Beta. We at MeinMMO are following the beta and will keep you updated in this live ticker about the launch, server issues, and any queues.
When does it start? The beta was supposed to start today at 16:00. However, the servers have already been live since 14:00. So you can play already now.
In this ticker, we will keep you informed about the servers and any issues. This way, you will know exactly if you can currently play New World and where problems might arise.
Update 10.09.2021 11:04 AM: The servers are still running smoothly and wait times are kept to a minimum. In the early morning hours, the Olympus server was restarted to fix a quest and AI issue. Otherwise, everything seems to be running smoothly.
Update 5:40 PM: The servers are still performing well, which we find very positive. The wait times now range between 30 minutes and 4 hours.

Update 4:30 PM: The servers are still stable, but the wait times are shooting up. On Jotunheim and Romancia, players wait up to 2 hours, even the empty servers have wait times of over 20 minutes.
Update 4:00 PM: All servers now have queues. Players are waiting longest on the Spanish and French servers (over an hour), and the least on Harmonia (about 5 minutes). Since the beta was supposed to officially start just now and more and more people in Europe are heading home, the queues are likely to increase significantly.
Update 3:30 PM: It has now spread that the servers are already live. The servers are getting fuller. An overview of the new and special German servers can be found here.
Update 3:10 PM: The German server Elysium already has about 37 minutes of queue, Styx has about 3 minutes. Furthermore, we now know that the German servers Styx and Antillia and the servers Albraca and Elysium share a world set.

What kind of beta is this? The Open Beta allows every player to try out New World. The only requirement is a Steam account through which you can register for the beta. You can find more about the Open Beta, registration, and download here:
What do we already know about adjustments for the beta? New World comes with a brand new patch that will be released with the beta. While there are hardly any new content, there are numerous bug fixes and finally servers for specific languages.
