In October, the MMORPG New World is planning a major update. Now it is seeing higher player numbers. However, some players are hesitant about their return.
With the Update “Brimestone Sands”, developer Amazon is focusing on making New World less monotonous. They have made the first 25 levels more interesting, for example, and plan to adjust the remaining levels later. Although the MMORPG was initially a hit, it has recently had a rather poor reputation.
According to Steamdb, New World is currently experiencing a rise in player numbers on Steam. The 24h peak is currently just under 33,000, while in previous weeks it was 8,000 players less. At the moment, there are even queues when logging in.
Nevertheless, Amazon was not able to solve all problems with the update, which is why some players are still unsure whether they want to return to the MMORPG.
Players do not want to return despite improvements
There will also be changes to the economy. The developers are gradually repairing the broken economy and ensuring that money is distributed more fairly in New World. So far, the economy has been heavily influenced by bots.

Under a post on reddit, it becomes clear that many players would like to return, but see the imbalanced economy as too big of a problem. Some see it as a disaster, while others consider it already repaired. Again, others wish for new servers for a fresh start.
Many players like New World but do not play it for various reasons. Nevertheless, they wish the game success and praise the new update.
