What does the team say? Through social channels like Twitter, the New World team shares a message to the community. They explain that the first 24 hours after release were “incredible” and thank players for their support.

Is this only for new servers? In the original English announcement, there was mention of character transfers to “new” servers. Amazon then clarified on Twitter that you can transfer your character to any server that is available at that moment (via Twitter.com).
What about a region switch? In the New World forum, a player asked whether it is possible to switch regions with the free character transfer. According to a member of the New World customer support, this is not possible (via forums.newworld.com).
“We do not have a system for region transfers. You can play in any region, but you have to start over with a new character,” explains Camulos from customer support.
