New World is getting its first major patch today. This update resulted in maintenance work and corresponding server downtime. This maintenance was scheduled for 4 hours but was extended due to technical issues.
What kind of maintenance is this? The maintenance on October 6 is taking place due to the new update. Patch 1.0.1 includes adjustments to the AFK timer and the queues, among other things.
Update 6:50 PM: Most servers are now running, and initial queues are present. However, the New World forum is currently inaccessible due to overload.
Update 6:25 PM: It is now stated on Twitter that the servers are slowly coming back online. You should be a little more patient:
How long will the maintenance last? Originally, the maintenance was scheduled for 4 hours and was supposed to run from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM German time. However, the maintenance was extended by one hour shortly after it began.
Recently, community manager Tosch commented in the official forum, explaining that there are technical difficulties. The maintenance will therefore be extended by another 2 hours.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing some technical difficulties and need to extend the maintenance by two hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and support. We will update the post as soon as there are further announcements.
The servers are therefore expected to return no earlier than 7:00 PM. Since the maintenance affects all servers worldwide, you currently have no chance to play New World.
