A group of 5 players completed Minecraft in just under 2 minutes. This sets a world record in one category. The video shows who had which task.
What kind of record is this? The vast world of Minecraft offers speedrun records for various categories. Solo, in a group, with glitches, without glitches, with random or specific worlds. In each, the goal is to complete the game as quickly as possible.
The latest world record by YouTuber M8use and his colleagues is in the cooperative category without glitches. They beat the second place by more than a minute.
Clear task distribution for the world record
What is the exact record? The group achieved a time of 1 minute and 56 seconds in the category “Cooperative Any% glitchless set seed 1.16.100+”. This means that they
- played cooperatively,
- did not complete the game fully (with all content) – but reached the main objective,
- did not use glitches,
- chose a set seed,
- set the version category to 1.16.100+
The team in second place took 4 minutes and 14 seconds. You can check the record overview on Speedrun.com.
This is how it went: The YouTuber M8use assembled a five-member team that includes Khalooody, Guccigang, Kobra, and IanG, bringing together other well-known representatives from the speedrun scene. The video shows how the world record was achieved.
In the first five minutes, the focus is on team composition and the roles of the individual players. Thus, the run is clearly timed for each participant. Since you know the seed, that is, the generated Minecraft world, the players know exactly where to find what.
At around 5:10 minutes, the run begins in the video. You can see the view from four of the five in a split-screen. If you want to see exactly how the tasks of the individual players look, we recommend that you focus only on one person’s screen while watching. It all goes by very quickly.
How do you like speedruns in games? Do you find it impressive how perfectly the individual actions of the players work together and harmonize, or are you not interested in that and are looking for the “real” gaming experience? Let us know your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.
