New World receives 5 musical instruments that sound really cool
What instruments are these? The patch in July is called “Summer Medleyfaire” and brings five corresponding instruments:
- Guitar
- Mandolin
- Double bass
- Drums
- Azoth flute
You can craft the instruments as a carpenter and play songs everywhere in Aeternum with them. However, you must first find and unlock these 31 songs. Once you own the songs, you can perform with up to five fellow players.
Each musical performance brings experience points and buffs. The viewers also receive the buffs and can throw coins as tips to the musicians. The bonuses for both musicians and viewers are significant:
- Quick Fingers: Gathering speed is increased for 30 to 90 minutes by 75 %.
- Area Triumph: Area reputation bonus increases for 30 to 90 minutes by 10 to 30 %.
- Now Everyone Together: Group character XP share bonus increases for 30 to 90 minutes by 4-15 %.
- Song in Step: Reduces burden for 30 to 90 minutes by 200-1000.
- Favor of Fate: Gathering yield increases for 30 to 90 minutes by 3-10 %.
- Luck Hunt: Collector luck increases for 30 to 90 minutes by 2-5 %.
Revisions on Dungeons and the new Dungeon Finder
What is this new dungeon? “Seepocken und Schwarzpulver” will be a new dungeon located in the “Entermesserriff” area. You will fight against an admiral of the corrupted there. This instance is supposed to be “endgame content”. How difficult the dungeon is compared to previous instances will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Two weeks after release, the new dungeon is set to receive mutations. Additionally, three new mutations will be released:
- Frozen: A mutation that focuses on ice elemental effects related to damage taken and dealt. It can also apply slowing status effects!
- Brutal: A set that includes mana deductions and silence zones where abilities cannot be used for a short time.
- Frenzied: Afflicts dodging players with curses. The curses stack and deal damage over time. Maximum stacks also damage nearby allies.
Only in March, New World released the new dungeon “Heart of the Storm”. You can find the trailer here:
How does the Dungeon Finder work? This new tool is valid only for the server you are on. You can either walk to the entrance of the dungeon or click an icon on the map. Then you can create a group search or apply to a group search:
- You can specify your preferred role in the team, such as DPS, tank, or healer.
- You can also set minimum values for gear score and character level.
- As the creator of a group, you can see the average gear score, which weapons, and how much skill your group members have in their weapons. This aims to prevent someone from applying as a tank while actually being a DPS.
What’s next without tuning orbs? The biggest change for dungeons will be the removal of tuning orbs, which were previously required to enter a dungeon. In the future, there will simply be restrictions:
- Daily, you can experience 15 normal expeditions (105 per week).
- Weekly, you can visit 25 mutated expeditions.
Anyone who still possesses old tuning orbs when the patch goes live will receive a chest with loot from the mini-boss and main boss of the instance and 50% of the former purchase price. Mutated orbs grant 4 boss rolls for the respective qualified mutator.
What changes in loot? In general, you will receive 80% less currency in dungeons than before. In return, there will now be more currency awarded when you complete the first two breaches (the events in the open world) each day.
In the dungeons, you will also receive a new material: Matter. You can use this to craft the dungeon gear you actually want faster. Matter can be obtained by defeating the end boss and salvaging expedition items.
Moreover, loot with mutators will be revised. Even at lower levels, there should now be better loot. Each mutator now drops all accessory types.
Additionally, several bug fixes for old dungeons will be implemented, including reset errors and issues that caused fights to reset.
New perks, bug fixes, and revisions
What changes with the perks? In New World, there are numerous perks that are not being used. Amazon has recognized this as well. Over 150 effects will be revised – some will simply become stronger, while others will be completely changed. You can find the complete patch notes in the New World forum.
Initial reactions to the changes are very positive. Players are hoping for a new meta and thus a break from the previous builds.
What changes in crafting? In the future, there will be no different ranks for reagents like tannins or smelting salts. This is to reduce the confusion regarding which level of reagent to use for which item.
Amazon is also revising the required experience points for many crafting professions:
- To level from 1 to 200 in leatherworking, you now need 10 % less XP.
- To level from 1 to 200 in smelting, you now need 10 % less XP.
- To level from 1 to 200 in weaving, you now need 15 % less XP.
- To level from 1 to 200 in woodworking, you now need 15 % less XP.
- To level from 1 to 200 in stonecrafting, you now need 20 % less XP.
- To level from 1 to 200 in carpentry, you now need 20 % less XP.
The XP for weapon smithing and carpentry will also be adjusted, but are not yet implemented in the first version on the PTR.
What else does the patch bring? Overall, the loot for players at level 60 is to be improved. The chance for epic and legendary loot will be increased. Additionally, more rare and epic loot is expected to come from gypsum orbs.
Furthermore, Amazon is adjusting the salvaging of items. Whenever you salvage an item, you have the chance for a “perfect salvage”. This can yield:
- Research materials (such as weapon fragments), with which you can gain experience for crafting skills
- Special orbs that you can transform into gypsum casts that bypass the normal daily limit
- Materials for crafting special items
- Other raw materials
Additionally, there are further adjustments to the enemy AI, balance changes to the weapons, and over 70 bug fixes. Changes are also being made to the new PvP arenas. Among other things, you can now bring your own buff food, but it will not be consumed when used.
What do you think of the New World update? Does anything entice you to return, or is the MMORPG still uninteresting to you? Feel free to write it in the comments.
Just in May, the update for the new PvP arenas was released, which initially created a good atmosphere: New World: New update brings arenas and positive Steam reviews – player numbers remain alarmingly low
