The release of the interesting open-world MMO New World has been postponed to August, but there is reason for joy for EU players. Because soon dedicated EU servers for the alpha will start. We explain how you can sign up.
What did Amazon announce? The alpha of New World is set to be expanded. Specifically for players from Europe. Because on March 30th, special dedicated EU servers for the MMO will go live.
What exactly do these servers bring? So far, European testers of New World had to play on US servers. As a result, latency times were quite high, which affected performance. There were lags that tarnished the gaming experience.
With dedicated EU servers, the MMO should run much better. This way, players can test New World more comfortably.
New World is launching a new alpha soon, here’s how to join
Here’s how to participate: To play on the new EU servers, you need to sign up for the alpha. Here’s how:
- You need an account with Amazon
- Visit the New World website
- Click the sign-up button there
- You will now need to log into your Amazon account
- Then you are registered
Do you automatically get in with a pre-order? Those who pre-order the MMO New World will get guaranteed access to the beta starting in summer. However, you will not get guaranteed access to the alpha. For that, you need to sign up again as described above.
The selection for the alpha is random. If you get access, you will be informed by Amazon. Then you will play on the new EU servers starting March 30th.
What happens to your progress in the alpha? At the end of the testing phase, there will be a so-called “wipe.” This means your characters and progress will be deleted. You will have to start over in the closed beta.
When does the beta start? You can play the closed beta starting July 20, 2021. Pre-order customers of New World automatically gain access to the beta of New World.
When is the release of the MMO? Amazon announced that you can dive into the adventures of New World from August 31, 2021. Due to new content and because the MMO is intended to feel really good at release, it has been postponed from Spring 2021 to August. Amazon simply wants to do it right and takes the time to provide players with a rounded experience.
